A Pig's Tale: Pig Named 6-7 Pardoned by Miami-Dade Mayor.

It might not have been at the same level as sparing holiday birds, but the county's top official conducted a Donald Trump moment this week by formally pardoning the life of a swine named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava performed the seasonal stunt at the Cuban-style Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.

“This animal is guiltless. Clemency is justified for her. Her criminal record is spotless,” stated the mayor in a speech with obvious nods to the extraordinary and sizable number of executive clemencies issued since the onset of a new presidential term.

“If we disregard eating half a dozen apples per day,” the mayor added. “Let this swine have a lengthy and joyful existence free from concern.”

The gathering, simultaneously observing and challenging the area's customary feast of feasting on pork during the holidays, was founded to mirror the traditional fowl clemency at the White House.

The animal, provided by a first responder, was given its name from the popular vernacular phrase of young people shouting “six seven” – originating from a rap song lyric – often seemingly at random. The trend became so widespread that a major dictionary recently made “six-seven” its 2025 word of the year.

A Peaceful Retirement

The pardoned swine is now scheduled to spend its days at a farm sanctuary “distant from barbecues and spits”, according to the organizers' announcement.

“This swine clemency has become a beloved tradition to open the festive period,” said the cafe owner, in a notably cheerful message.

“It represents the character of Miami: vibrant, diverse, and based in heritage that bring people together. Each year, we are delighted to mark culture and compassion in a way unique to Miami.”

Attendees enjoyed a vegetarian menu of croquettes and cafecito as they celebrated Six Seven’s big moment.
