Iran Reports Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is uncertain and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.

Officials reported missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
