Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.
Stateside actor Finn, who appeared in popular television series such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per media reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a message.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
